How much to charge for your work

Photographers starting in the industry, tend to focus more on developing their photo skills. Although concentrating on developing and improving your craft is well and good, if you want to make money, it is prudent to build your business awareness. There are a lot of skilled photographers that have failed to make money in spite of there skill. On the other hand, some less-skilled photographers are able to make a living with there limited photographic skills. Why?

how much do you charge for your photography
You could be a skilled photographer without marketing you will earn nothing.

The difference here is how they approach photography. Successful photographers treat photography as a business. Clients know first what you are offering before they make a judgment on your skill. Sadly, less-business survey photographers’, as skilled as they are, make less money if they do at all because no one knows what they are offering. We can, therefore, conclude that to make money with photography, your photography skills should be as good as your business skills. Successful photographers are skilled business people. They know how to market themselves.

But knowing how market yourself does not mean that you will have a successful photography business. There is more to doing business if you want to have a profitable business. You need to understand how to manage and advertise your business to generate money.
